Grossly Overpriced Oppo N1 Launches in India

OPPO launches in India
OPPO Mobiles today announced its entry in the Indian market and also launched their flagship smartphone in India, OPPO N1. The smartphone has been priced at Rs. 39,999.

The Oppo N1 comes with a 5.9-inch Full HD display and runs on Android 4.2 (elly Bean). It is powered by 1.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 Quad Core processor along with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone will be available in two variants one with 16GB of internal storage and the other with 32 GB of internal storage.

It has a 13 MP rotating camera, which can rotate till 206 degrees over the X- axis. The Oppo N1 has a 3,610 mAh. This device also has a button on its rear.

In the first stage of its operations in India, Oppo will cover twelve cities, which include Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Jaipur and Ludhiana, through its dealership network.

Speaking at the launch, Tom Lu, Director and CEO, OPPO Mobiles India Pvt. Ltd. said, "We intend to replicate our excellent product and service experience in India through our new and innovative Smartphones and give Indian consumers a delightful experience. The underlying product philosophy behind OPPO's international success and reputation is our emphasis on something very simple i.e. 'experience'. I see a wonderful future for both OPPO India and our partners and the formation of a healthy and long-term association focused on progress and growth."

The company is betting on the gesture features and its rotating camera to make a mark in the minds of the Indian consumers. In addition, the company has also roped in Hrithik Roshan and Sonam Kapoor as brand ambassadors.

We are utterly disappointed with the price of the smartphone. At Rs. 39,999 it is way too over priced for a brand that is just entering in the Indian market. Moreover, the rotating camera of the Oppo N1 did not impress us much.

  1. This was one of the best smartphones at that time. Now I'm using Oppo a17, another masterpiece from Oppo at budget range. They are providing the best value at the lowest possible price.
