Several types of exotic plants — including succulents, Aglaonema and Jamia and some bonsai specimens — will be on show at the sixth edition of the Ahmedabad Flower Show(AFS), organized by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). While the show was a wonder at first view, regular visitors expected much more. "I've been visiting the show for six years. This time has been disappointing there are hardly any rare species on show. The sheer variety was much greater last year. The only plant that caught my eye was dracaena and I decided to take a sapling home," said Amrish Panchal, a 56-year-old resident of Paldi.
Others were excited at the varieties of flowers available. "I'm in love with lilies and the variety here is amazing. I will pick up a few before I head home," said Vrinda Dave, 25-year-old resident of Judges Bungalows.
To honour the World Heritage City status of Ahmedabad, the AMC has dedicated a corner at the flower show to showcase the city's heritage. Films with narratives of the city's heritage and architecture were screened to showcase our world heritage city.
Ahmedabad: 6th edition of annual flower show which is organized by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation(AMC) at Sabarmati Riverfront will start on December 30 this year and continue till January 9 during 10 am – 9 pm.
AMC organizes flower show since 2013. The latest edition of flower show will take place over 1 lakh square meter land at riverfront.
There shall be 14 food stalls, 120 handicraft stalls, 32 shops for selling garden tools, 14 nursery outlets for selling of plants, fertilizers, pesticides and other related items.
Giraffe, butterfly cluster, dear, flamingo, peacock, mickey mouse made from flowers, selfie wall, tree, ball etc 50 sculptures will attract the visitors to flower show.
AMC has organized bus trips for citizens to travel to flower show venue.

6th Ahmedabad Flower Show 2017 is taking place at the Sabarmati Riverfront ground behind Tagore Hall. Flower show will continue for 10-days which is spread over 1 lakh square feet area. From today, 30 December to 9th January 2018, the flower show in Ahmedabad will be open for public.

This year, 14 nurseries and companies specializing in seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and garden implements from across the country have put up 34 stalls. Live demonstrations on gardening will be another feature of the festival. There will also be glimpses of heritage sites, 14 food stalls, and 120 handicraft stalls.
This year, Flower show will showcase 50 bird and animal forms such as butterfly, peacock, deer, giraffe and more. AMC has arranged bus services to and from the venue for different areas. There is also painting competition for children.
